Cloud VPS · n8n

n8n on your own server, with the data in Argentina

Automate orders, alerts, spreadsheets and AI agents with n8n running on a VPS you control. There is no execution counter, and whatever passes through your workflows stays stored in Buenos Aires.

  1. No execution meter

    It makes no difference whether a workflow runs every minute or once a week: the price stays the same. The only limit is the plan’s CPU and memory.

  2. Your credentials, on your disk

    Keys for Mercado Pago, Google or your CRM stay encrypted inside your VPS, in our Buenos Aires datacenter, rather than in someone else’s cloud.

  3. Room for whatever you add

    With Docker you can add PostgreSQL, Redis for queue mode or a vector database for your agents next to n8n, each in its own container.

  4. Webhooks at a fixed address

    A static Argentine IP and your own subdomain mean systems that notify you by webhook always find n8n in the same place.

Getting started

From zero to your first workflow

  1. Add Docker to the server

    The official script installs Docker Engine and the Compose plugin on Ubuntu 24.04:

    curl -fsSL https://get.docker.com | sh
  2. Describe n8n in a compose.yaml

    Replace the subdomain with yours. The port is bound to 127.0.0.1, so from outside you only get in over HTTPS.

    mkdir -p /opt/n8n && cd /opt/n8n
    cat > compose.yaml <<'EOF'
    services:
      n8n:
        image: docker.n8n.io/n8nio/n8n
        restart: unless-stopped
        ports:
          - "127.0.0.1:5678:5678"
        environment:
          - N8N_HOST=n8n.tudominio.com.ar
          - N8N_PROTOCOL=https
          - WEBHOOK_URL=https://n8n.tudominio.com.ar/
          - GENERIC_TIMEZONE=America/Argentina/Buenos_Aires
          - TZ=America/Argentina/Buenos_Aires
        volumes:
          - n8n_data:/home/node/.n8n
    volumes:
      n8n_data:
    EOF
    docker compose up -d
  3. Publish it with Caddy

    Point the subdomain at the VPS IP. Caddy obtains and renews the certificate on its own:

    apt install -y caddy
    cat > /etc/caddy/Caddyfile <<'EOF'
    n8n.tudominio.com.ar {
        reverse_proxy 127.0.0.1:5678
    }
    EOF
    systemctl reload caddy

FAQ

About Cloud VPS · n8n.

How much machine does n8n need?

For simple workflows on the SQLite database n8n ships with, a VM2 with 2 GB is enough. If you add AI agents, PostgreSQL on the same server or many simultaneous executions, go for the VM3 or VM4; you can move up later without reinstalling.

Is there any limit on workflows or executions?

None on our side: we do not count executions or active workflows. The ceiling is the plan’s CPU and memory, and both can be expanded when you need.

Will you install it?

The VPS arrives with Ubuntu ready, and the three steps on this page get n8n running. Installing and maintaining it is up to you, but if you get stuck during setup, write to us and we will lend a hand.

How do I update n8n without losing workflows?

From the compose.yaml folder run docker compose pull and then docker compose up -d. Workflows and credentials live in the data volume, so they survive the container swap. Copy that volume first in case the new release breaks something.

What does an n8n VPS cost?

The VM3 is US$27 a month, final price. The self-hosted Community Edition of n8n carries no license fee for internal use.
