General
What do I need to get my site online?
A domain, which is the name (yourbusiness.com), and hosting, which is where your site files and mailboxes live. With InHosting you get both in one place, and if your domain is somewhere else, we connect it.
Will you move my site from another provider?
Yes, free of charge. We copy files, databases and mailboxes, and tell you when to change the DNS, so your visitors and customers never notice.
Which server fits me: VPS, cloud server or colocation?
A Cloud VPS is enough for most apps, stores and systems: guaranteed resources at a good price. A cloud server gives you dedicated hardware with more cores and memory. Colocation is for when you already own the hardware and need a place for it. Not sure? Tell us about the project and we will recommend one.
Why pay in Argentine pesos?
Because we charge in Argentina: if you are based here, you avoid the card surcharges added when a foreign service is paid in dollars. The price you see is the final price, and we also list it in US dollars.
How can I pay?
With Mercado Pago, credit or debit card, cash at payment points, bank transfer or deposit, and PayPal.
How long do you take to reply?
A sales enquiry is answered within the business day. When an active service stops working, call us or open a ticket from the client area and we pick it up right away; urgent issues have on-call cover outside office hours too.
Is there a minimum term or lock-in?
No. Everything is taken month to month, with no minimum term. If you want to try it, order the plan that fits for one month: if it works, keep it or grow; if not, cancel and you are not tied to anything.
How do I cancel a service?
Request it from the client area or by ticket. The terms ask for 30 days’ notice before the end of the period you have already paid, and amounts paid are not refunded. Before that date, download your files, databases and mail: once the service ends, they are deleted.
What happens if I pay late?
First you get email reminders. If payment does not arrive, the service is suspended, but your files, databases and mailboxes are kept during a grace period and come back as soon as the payment is credited. After that period the account is deleted, so it is best to catch up quickly; the exact timings are in the terms of service.
Where do I report a transfer or deposit?
On the payment registration page of this site: fill in the details, attach the receipt (PDF, JPG or PNG up to 8 MB) and it reaches our accounts team, who credit it to your account once verified. Bank details for a transfer are requested from the payment methods page.
Can the price change?
The price you see is final, and whatever you pay in advance is locked for that period. Rates can be updated, but a change never applies to a period you have already paid. If you pay in pesos, the exchange rate does not shift the amount from one day to the next either.
If I move to another provider, do I keep my data?
Yes, it is yours. On hosting you create a full backup from DirectAdmin with files, databases and mail; on a VPS or server you have full access to copy whatever you want. Do it before the last paid period ends and with your account up to date.
Hosting
What does each plan include?
All of them come with unlimited mailboxes and databases, an SSL certificate, the DirectAdmin panel, an app installer, antispam, antivirus and automatic backups. What changes is disk space: 5, 10 or 50 GB.
How much traffic do the plans include?
We do not charge for traffic or meter bandwidth. The plans are designed for company sites, blogs and small to mid-size stores, with up to 1 GB of transfer per day.
Does my domain have to be with you?
No. If your domain is elsewhere, point it to our DNS, which we send when the plan is activated. If you prefer everything in one place, you can transfer it.
Is it good for an online store?
Yes. WooCommerce or PrestaShop install in one click. If the store grows, we help you move to a bigger plan or a Cloud VPS.
Can I host an application or a business system?
Hosting is built for websites and email. For a transactional system or a critical app, a Cloud VPS with guaranteed resources and root access is the better fit.
How much space do mailboxes have?
Mailboxes share the plan disk: create as many as you like and they use the space you have. If your company handles a lot of email, the Empresas plan has 50 GB.
What content is not allowed?
Anything forbidden by Argentine law or our usage policies: illegal or offensive content, copyright infringement or spam.
Can I switch hosting plans?
Yes. Moving up can be done at any time without moving anything: the account is enlarged with your files and mailboxes where they are. To move down, we coordinate it once what you use fits on the new plan’s disk.
I deleted a file or an email by mistake. Can it be recovered?
Usually yes: hosting takes automatic backups, and from the panel you restore files, databases or mailboxes in a few clicks. It is still wise to download your own copy now and then, especially before a big change to the site.
What settings do I use for email on my phone or in Outlook?
Username: the full address. Incoming and outgoing server: mail.yourdomain.com.ar, or the one in your welcome email. Ports: IMAP 993 and SMTP 465 with SSL, or 587 with STARTTLS. Pick IMAP over POP3 (995) if you read mail on more than one device.
Do I have to renew the SSL certificate?
No. The certificate is included in the plan and renews itself before it expires. All it needs is for the domain to point to our server: if you move the DNS elsewhere, renewal stops working.
Which PHP version does the hosting use?
Several PHP versions are available, so a new site can run a current one while an older site keeps working as you update it. If your site or a plugin needs a specific version, ask us about it.
Domains
What is a domain?
It is your business name on the internet, like yourbusiness.com. You use it for your site and your mailboxes. Short and easy to say and spell works best.
Can I register a .com.ar?
Yes. .com.ar domains are registered at NIC Argentina in the holder’s name, with their Argentine tax ID. We guide you through it and connect it to your hosting.
Can I bring the domain I already have?
Yes. Transfer it to keep everything in one place, or leave it where it is and just point it to our DNS. Both work the same.
How long until it works?
Registration is instant. DNS changes can take a few hours to propagate worldwide, usually less than a day.
What do I need to register a .com.ar?
The holder needs an Argentine tax ID (CUIT, CUIL or CDI) and a clave fiscal with the NIC Argentina service enabled, because the domain is registered in their name at NIC. Sort out the clave fiscal before picking the name: it is the slowest part. Then delegate the domain to the nameservers we give you and it is up and running.
Whose name is the domain in?
The holder you enter when registering it, not InHosting. For .com.ar, NIC Argentina registers it under the holder’s tax ID; for .com, you are listed as the registrant. If you ever change providers, the domain goes with you.
What happens if my domain expires?
The site and email stop working until you renew. If more time goes by, the registry releases it and anyone can register it: getting it back later may be impossible. Renew in time and keep the contact email current, since that is where reminders go.
If I transfer the domain, will email stop?
Not if you leave the DNS alone. A transfer changes who manages the registration, not where the domain points. For a .com you need the authorization (EPP) code and the domain unlocked, and it generally cannot move within 60 days of being registered or transferred. A .com.ar is not moved with a code: the holder changes the delegation at NIC Argentina.
Can I use my domain with Google Workspace or Microsoft 365?
Yes. Add the MX, SPF and verification records the provider gives you to the domain’s DNS zone; if the zone lives on your hosting, you edit it in DirectAdmin. The website can stay at InHosting while email lives elsewhere.
Cloud VPS
What is the difference between hosting and a Cloud VPS?
With hosting you share a server that we manage. A Cloud VPS gives you guaranteed resources (CPU, memory and disk just for you) and root or Administrator access to install whatever you need.
Which operating systems can I use?
The usual Linux distributions and Windows Server. You choose when you order.
Where are the servers?
In our TIER‑II datacenter in Buenos Aires, with an Argentine IP. The platform runs on Proxmox, with redundancy and dedicated resources.
Can I reboot the VPS myself?
Yes. From the panel you reboot it, power it off or on whenever you like, and see how much CPU, memory and disk it uses. If a firewall rule or a lost password locks you out, open a ticket and we help you get back in.
Can I scale up later?
Yes. Move to a plan with more CPU, memory or disk without reinstalling anything. Write to us and we will arrange it.
Is the Cloud VPS managed?
No. We deliver it with the system installed and root or Administrator access; from then on, updates, security, software and backups are yours to handle. We look after the platform and the network, and if you have questions about the server, we point you in the right direction.
Does the VPS include backups?
No. Unlike shared hosting, on a VPS the customer defines and runs the backups. Best practice is copying data off the server, to another machine or external storage, on a schedule, and testing restores every so often.
What do I do if I lock myself out of the VPS?
From the VPS panel you can reboot it, power it off or on and see its resources, but that does not undo a firewall rule or a lost password. For that, open a ticket from the client area and we help you get back in.
Can I host the VPS in another country?
Yes. When ordering you can pick the United States, Chile, Colombia or Mexico instead of Buenos Aires, for an extra fee. It makes sense when most of your users are in that country; if they are in Argentina, our datacenter is still the best choice.
Cloud servers
What is the difference between a Cloud VPS and a cloud server?
Both are measured in CPU, memory and disk. A VPS shares nodes with other clients, each with guaranteed resources. A cloud server combines dedicated hardware with its own virtualization: more cores, more memory and RAID 10 disks with a spare.
Who manages the server?
You or your team run the operating system: updates, users, services and backups. We help you get started and look after the platform and the network.
How do I get in?
Over SSH as root on Linux, or remote desktop as Administrator on Windows. There is also a rescue console for when the network is down.
Can I connect several servers?
Yes. Within the same datacenter we link them with a private network and an internal IP on each machine.
Can you set up high availability?
Your technical team designs it and we provide where to run it: several isolated servers on one node and a backup on another. We review it together for your project.
Is there anything I cannot run?
Game servers and browsing VPNs are not allowed on the network. For any other special case, write to us.
What does it mean that the server is hybrid?
It combines dedicated hardware with its own virtualization layer on Proxmox VE. You get the power of a physical machine along with cloud perks: a rescue console, growing without reinstalling and a lower cost than a traditional dedicated server.
How far can a cloud server grow?
Plans range from 4 to 8 cores and 4 to 32 GB of RAM, and with an upgrade memory reaches 128 GB. The expansion happens on the same server, with no migration or reinstall.
240 GB SSD or 1 TB SAS?
SSD responds much faster and is the choice for databases, stores and applications with heavy reads and writes. The 1 TB SAS gives you more space and suits files, repositories or backups. Either way the disks run in RAID 10 with a spare.
With RAID 10, do I still need backups?
Yes. RAID with a spare covers you if a disk breaks, but it instantly copies any mistake too: a deletion, a corrupted file or an attack that encrypts the data. Servers do not include backups, so plan copies off the machine; if you like, we work it out together.
How much bandwidth does it get?
Up to 100 Mbps over the datacenter’s 10 Gbps network, with unmetered transfer under fair use. Each server comes with a static public IP.
Colocation
What is colocation?
You bring your own server and we host it in a rack in our datacenter, with power, cooling, security and connectivity. The hardware is yours; the space and infrastructure are ours.
Can I come in and work on my server?
Yes, with prior notice. Schedule the visit, enter the technical areas with an escort and work on your equipment as long as you need.
What connectivity is included?
Every plan includes 100 Mbps symmetric over a 10 Gbps backbone, plus a public IP. More IPs or bandwidth can be added.
What happens in a power outage?
The datacenter has conditioned power with UPS and redundant generators, so a grid outage never reaches your equipment.
Do you accept tower servers?
Yes. Rack servers go on rails and tower units on a shelf.
Which plan fits the size of my equipment?
Space is counted in rack units (U), each 4.45 cm (1.75 in) tall. A typical server takes 1U or 2U; storage or a large server, 2U to 4U. There are 1U, 2U, 4U and 6U plans, half rack (18U) and full rack (36U); if you plan to add equipment, leave spare units so you do not have to move.
A part in my server broke. Who replaces it?
The equipment is yours, so the spare part is too. You can come in and swap it with prior notice, or arrange with us for datacenter staff to fit it when the part arrives, as a paid add-on.
How many IPs does each plan include?
One public IP on the 1U to 4U plans, two on 6U, six on the half rack and fourteen on the full rack. More can be added as an extra. If you have your own address block and ASN, we can announce it over BGP from our network, as a paid add-on.
How is power usage monitored?
Each plan comes with a set number of outlets, and your rack’s power draw is measured in real time, along with temperature and per-port traffic, with alerts when something drifts out of range. If you will need more power, it can be increased with advance notice. Do not plug in new equipment without telling us: an overload can trip the power to the whole rack.
What should I bring on installation day?
The equipment with its rails if it is rack-mounted (towers go on a shelf), its power cables and the network settings ready with the IP we assign you. Schedule the visit ahead of time and register the people coming: without prior registration nobody enters the technical areas.
Support and blocks
Why was my IP blocked?
The firewall blocks an IP when behaviour looks like an attack: several failed logins to DirectAdmin, SSH, FTP or email; many error pages in a row; port scans, spam or simultaneous access from many places; traffic that looks like a DDoS attack, or rules that block risky IPs.
How do I avoid it?
Check that the passwords saved in your email client and site are correct. If you forgot one, use password recovery instead of trying several times, or write to us.
How do I know it is a block?
Try your site or email from another network, for example your phone’s mobile data. If it works there, your IP is probably blocked: fill in the form above.
Does restarting the router help?
Sometimes: if your IP is dynamic, restarting the router may change it and the block stops affecting you. It is still worth requesting the unblock and checking what caused it.
Can it unblock me from another site?
No. It only works if our firewall blocked you from a service hosted with InHosting: panel, email, FTP or client area. We cannot unblock you on other sites, apps or games.
How often is it updated?
Every service is checked every 60 seconds from an independent monitoring system hosted outside the infrastructure it watches. The page refreshes itself every minute.
What does the percentage mean?
It is uptime over the last 24 hours, computed over the checks performed. The bars show the latest checks in order: each one is an attempt, and the colour shows how it answered.
A service shows as down, what do I do?
The on-call team has already been alerted. If your service is affected and you need news, write or call us: we will tell you what is happening and when it will be solved.
My service is down but shows as online here
It may be your IP blocked by the firewall, especially after several failed password attempts. Check the IP unblock page, or write to us and we will look into it.
