Cloud servers · High availability

The groundwork for your high availability, sized to the project

Your technical team designs the replication and failover; we supply the machines: several VPS or cloud servers kept apart within one node, and a backup stored on a different node. We go over it together and each machine is paid on its own.

We do not configure the high availability: failover, load balancing and replication are the work of the customer’s technical team. What we deliver is the machines and the backup off the main node, each with its own price.

  1. We think it through with you

First we go over together how many machines are needed and how large, based on which parts of the project cannot stop.

  2. Kept apart within the node

The machines share a node but run isolated from one another and from other customers, and your team links them however it sees fit.

  3. A copy away from the main node

The copy is kept on another node, not the one running your machines: if the main node runs into trouble, the data is still safe.

  4. Each machine, its own price

We do not sell a bundle: each VPS or SH has its final price, and you can add or remove machines whenever the design changes.

Getting started

From the idea to delivered machines

  1. Tell us what must keep running

Which applications run, how many machines your team is thinking of and their size.

  2. We review the proposal

We confirm which VPS or SH are needed, how they sit on the node, where the backup goes and what each one costs.

  3. Your team sets up the redundancy

With the machines in hand, your team puts replication and failover in place using the tools it prefers.

FAQ

About Cloud servers · High availability.

What does it cost?

Each VPS or SH you order is paid at its own final price. A cloud server begins at US$58.50 a month and a VM2 VPS costs US$18. High availability carries no charge of its own.

Do you set it up?

No. Your technical team takes care of replicating data, spreading load and failing over. We supply the machines, isolated within the node, plus the copy stored on a different node.

Can I combine VPS with cloud servers?

Yes, and it often makes sense: for example, cloud servers for the database and VPS for the applications. We work it out together and each machine is paid for on its own.

Where does the backup live?

On another node, separate from the one running your machines. That way, if the main one fails, the copy does not go down with it.
